The SLØTH (Shamefully Lazy Non-THinker)

Meet Jack the SLØTH. No one thinks everyone should always think (and some very pleasant things are almost incompatible with thinking, though someone will always try.) Some sapient creatures don't like to think at all. It's not that they just believe what they're told (more on that elsewhere.) It's that they never met an idea they didn't like to ignore. The SLØTHs are the intellectual apathletes of the world. They can't even be bothered to be dogmatic slumberers. Of course, this picture of SLØTHfullness is a picture of a particular sort of soul; busy bodies can house SLØTHful minds. But an empty mind in a healthy body would make Jack a particularly dull beast. -Allen Stairs |
